If the Civil Rights laws were not passed, who knows?

 I would like to of seen laws passed, that would force the government to treat all citizens equally, kind of like "Don't Ask Don't Tell" especially  regarding the race of the citizens. 

I know this would never happen because too many Civil Rights leaders would then have to find something productive to do.

Who knows how far along we would be if the right laws were passed, I think that race relations in this country are as far along as they are, in spite of the Civil Rights laws.
