Spare Me!

The following quote from Ann Coulter arrived in my mail. I normally like what Ann has to say. On this topic I differ. I've included a few comments why I feel this way.

Mark

"[A]n indisputably innocent woman [was] killed by the government for one reason: Judge Greer of Pinellas County, Fla., ordered it.
This woman was killed 15 or so years ago when her brain "Flat lined" due to a lack of oxygen. Her corpse was kept alive like some kind of zombie. She is only "innocent" if you remove her from any responsibility from starving herself into a coma. Sure I'm blaming the victim - how politically incorrect - yeah I know.
One has to ask why the Judge was involved in this case in the first place. The short answer is the Parents asked him to get involved.
Why did the Parents ask Judge Greer to get involved?
Could it be they knew the legal decision to treat Terri rested with the Husband and they wanted the law changed to suit their wishes?
Polls claim that a majority of Americans objected to action by the U.S. Congress in the Schiavo case as 'government intrusion' into a 'private family matter'-as if Judge Greer is not also the government.
The Judge was merely allowing for the previously enacted laws to be followed.
So twisted is our view of the judiciary that a judicial decree is treated like a naturally occurring phenomenon, like a rainbow or an act of God. Our infallible, divine ruler is a county judge in Florida named George Greer, who has more authority in America than the U.S. Congress, the president and the governor
Could it be that the law specifically allows for the Husband to make the decision as a right reserved to the individual under the Constitution?
Conservatives should be relived that the government it self acknowledged that it's powers were limited by the Constitution, that the Congress the Governor and even the President himself could not over run the legal decision made by a mere citizen.
No wonder the Southern Baptist Church threw Greer out: Only one god per church!
His pastor asked him not to attend church because he was considered a sinner for upholding the law, I can see signs over every church in America proclaiming "Sinners not welcome".
It's a good system if you like monarchy and legally sanctioned murder.
Terri was not murdered. Her existence stopped when her brain stopped. Her body was kept warm by a surgically implanted tube. Her brain was replaced by fluids. She had as much of a chance of recovery, as an amputee growing a new hand, just like a starfish grows lost "arms". The husband spent many years looking for a sliver of hope, and finally came out of denial, and understood what the Doctors were telling him. Terry was already gone. Murder? No way.
But spare me the paeans to 'strict constructionism' and 'limited government'."-Ann Coulter
Spare me the attacks on people who by fate were forced into making difficult decisions in a no win situation. People who operated within the law. People who acted not out of malice, but mercy.

An easy way to respond if you care to.
