A Partial Conversation With

Rochelle Riley

When Liberals come across Facts they do not like what is the typical response?

bullet"Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot"
bullet"You are just a 'Clinton Hater"
bullet"You just 'Lack Compassion"
bullet"You are a 'Racist"

Are you with me so far?

The answer is "Name Calling". The truth of the matter is that Liberals beat the socks off of Conservatives  when it comes to using words as a political weapon.

bulletIllegal aliens have become undocumented workers.
bulletDrunken bums have become the homeless.
bulletNot hiring someone on account of his skin color has become Affirmative Action.

Are you with me so far?

Consider this question - Can you have an "Affirmative Action" plan with out using some form of "Racial  Profiling"?

Let's think it thru ...

First off you have to believe that a person's skin color tells you something about a person.

Next you have to select a situation to apply your Affirmative Action plan, lets say a newspaper staff.

Next step is to collect data on the newspaper staff, by noting the hue of each individual's skin tone.

Once the data is collected it must be analyzed to create a profile the newspaper staff.

With a profile of the newspaper staff in hand, some one must decide weather it is a good thing or a bad thing. To be blunt some one must decide that the range of skin tones in the newspaper staff is acceptable. {To who? I have not figured that one out yet... you tell me ... . }

After the "Profile" of the newspaper staff is deemed unacceptable, the corrective action can be put into place. Why is the corrective action plan implemented? To "Correct" the "Profile" of the newspaper staff and thus to the hearts of those who care about such things!

When considering new individuals for the newspaper staff, using the corrective action plan, the candidate whose skin color is unacceptable is "recycled" [Special thanks to Judge Cohn for the term!] to the bottom of the pile!

So can you have an Affirmative Action plan implemented with out using Racial Profiling?

No - You have to get out the old "Color Wheel" to make it work!

Yes - You profile in secret!

The Detroit Free Press brought out a new columnist Rochelle Riley  on October 8, 2000.

I suppose her arrival means Sue Watson is history! To bad sue was such a card,  as in "The man from Hope offers none"!

Well Rochelle's first article was a doozey! She is writing about "Vouchers" and she completely misses the point of "Vouchers"

So I sent Rochelle an email

"It's yelling fire in a crowded theater.

And last time I checked, that was against the law."

Duh! Oh really?

Where did you check?

It might be against the law to FALSELY report a fire.

Way to start out in Detroit, being ignorant, makes one wonder if you were hired for your "Fact Checking Skills" or for the way the color of your epidermis brings joy to people who care about such things.

Rochelle replied

Dear Mark: I typically don't respond to racists, but in your case, I'll make an exception. Educating children isn't about color or race, it's about duty and responsibility. If we want a responsible society, then we must raise one for the sake of those children and our own, whether we educate our children better than those children or not. And as for the metaphor. There isn't a fire yet, in either case, so both reports indeed would be false.

Thanks for reading my column, and remember it's not the color of the epidermis, but the humor and honor in the heart, which is the same color in all of us.

Rochelle

I thought wow! An insult! What did I say that was racist? You can yell "Fire" if there is one!

I asked a question...  Is asking questions racist?

Yes, one has to be careful in asking questions to be politically correct these days.

No. (But maybe answering one is!)

When Liberals come across facts they do not like what is the typical response?

By golly it is "Name Calling!"

Wow! it is true - they do resort to name calling!

Wrong again - you are a block head!

I sent Rochelle the following:

Hi
First off I am not a racist. I have read several articles in magazines such as "Editor & Publisher" talking about the "need for people of color" in the news media. I am 100% positive that the Free Press will tout your arrival as an example of their trying to offer diversity to their readership.  When I said "...or for the way the color of your epidermis brings joy to people who care about such things." don't you think the Free Press will be happy to report your arrival to people who monitor the ethnic make up of the
editorial staff?

Please answer:  Am I a racist for pointing out exactly what the Free Press will do?

Give me a break, I honestly believe you can not judge a book by it's cover, and I like to ridicule those who claim to, thus my comment about the epidermis, should be clear! Epidermis ... Book Cover ... GET IT!

As for as your Village raising the Children, ever wonder why Hillary and the Majority of Detroit Teachers, would not dare send their kids to a big city school?

Will Vouchers help every kid, probably not. Will Vouchers shake up the Government School Monopoly? I hope so.

Feel free to look at a page on Vouchers I put together at http://extrao.com/school_issues.htm

Thanks for responding

Mark

So dare I ask the readers of this page the same questions Rochelle cares not to answer?

Am I a racist for pointing out exactly what the Free Press will do?

Yes - You are very bad!

No - you are insensitive!

Is my comment about the epidermis clear? Epidermis ... Book Cover ... GET IT!

Yes - You made a good point

No - You cant be clear about any thing!

Ever wonder why Hillary and the Majority of Detroit Teachers, would not dare send their kids to a big city
school?

No, I have not wondered about it.

Yes, It has crossed my mind.

Do you blame them for abandoning the Government Schools?

No, not really.

Yes, they should "lead by example" if they care to "champion" Government Schools.

Will Vouchers shake up the Government School Monopoly?

No, As Rochelle says "There isn't a fire yet,..." so why rock the boat?

Yes - For the sake of the people paying to be there!

The way this is setup to be on the web if you want me to know who you are you gotta tell me!

It brings joy to my heart to tell you that I am my email is
